CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

The construction industry accounts for a quarter of all deaths that occur at work and for more than 4,000 serious injuries each year. This worrying record has serious and far-reaching consequences for individuals and businesses alike and contributes to the industry’s poor image.

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, firms must have skilled workers who understand the importance of health and safety. One way to do this is to ask people on-site to hold cards proving their competence. All Mat Services’ employees, including Project Managers, hold CSCS cards.

Registration schemes, run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for the industry, have always insisted that health and safety training be undertaken before issuing a card. This health and safety training helps to ensure that a competent workforce is acting responsibly on our customer’s premises.
